Castillo de Salgar is one of the most romantic spots in Barranquilla, Colombia. Noted for its bright yellow color, the castle sits on the cliffs that face the Caribbean Sea.
The castle was constructed in 1848 and since then has served a variety of functions, from a prison and a military fort to a customs control house. Today, part of the castle is used as a restaurant and an art gallery. It is also an ideal venue for local events.
Visitors can go up to the second floor to enjoy the ocean views before capping off a day of sightseeing with a hearty meal at the restaurant.
