Completed in 1356, Castelvecchio is a beautiful castle located in Verona, Italy. It was built by the Scaliger family to provide protection from other prominent families or dynasties within the region.
The castle has everything you would expect such as menacing towers and a moat, but its structure wasn't as elaborate as most. However, it is known for its beautiful courtyard and connected bridge.
It was initiated by Congrande II, a member of the ruling family and is a fine example of Gothic architecture. It currently serves as a museum. The castle has art collections in numerous galleries. Visitors can see artworks from artists such as Paolo Morando and more.
