Leon Trotsky, a Russian revolutionary, was known to have spent his last days in Mexico in exile. He was murdered in his house by an assassin. This house has since been turned into a museum to preserve his legacy. Everything has been preserved, especially in the study where he was killed.
Trotsky was a Marxist and a critic of the Stalin regime. This political activities eventually resulted in his exile to various countries. His influential friends, the artists Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, negotiated his asylum in Mexico. He lived with his wife and grandson at the Casa Trotsky while continuing his opposition to Stalin.
