The Bellver Castle in the city of Palma, Spain, is a 14th century castle that sits on a hill surrounded by the Bellver wood. This Gothic castle, which provides spectacular views of the area, showcases a circular floor and circular towers. Only a few castles in Europe have a circular design.
The building used to be a royal residence and has its share of invasions and sieges. It also became a refuge from a plague and then used as a military prison.
