Basilica of St. Mary (Bazylika Mariacka) is a brick church spanning 190,000 square meters, one of the biggest in Europe and north of the Alps. For a time, the site where this grand church now stands was the home of a wooden church built by Prince Swantopolk II.
From the outside, the place is a sight to behold thanks to its Gothic influences. Inside, visitors can see an old organ that served the church for centuries. In fact, the Lutheran congregation from centuries before were able to store liturgical garments, some of these garments still survive to this day.
The ceiling is just as well-designed as the outside and staring at it from where the mass is held is often described as awe-inspiring.
