Located in southern Spain, the Alcazaba is a walled fortification in the city of Almeria. Caliph Al-Mansoor and after him Al-Jairan enlarged the complex.
The intention of this fortification was to protect then largest city, Pechina. It consists of three enclosures, the first of which is separated from the second by the Wall of the Sail. Governorsalong with their servants and soldiers used to stay in the second enclosure, which also had a Mosque in it. The third enclosure is the most modern one in the complex.
This area was used for the shooting of several Hollywood movies including Indiana Jones and the Last Cruisade.
